A little bit about me, then the art...
As you probably know by now, my name is Josh and I am the artist featured in this portfolio. I am not just going to ramble on but will just give you a small background.
I am originally from Ohio, where I attended high school and college at Ashland University. I attended Ashland University on athletic scholarship as part of the baseball program. I studied a few different degrees before finally focusing in on a Bachelors of Sciencce in Commercial Art, with a minor in Art History. In the search for what I was going to do I obtained a working knowledge in computer programming and also in buisness/accounting. Once baseball was done I studied graphic design, webdesign, and photography at the Art Institute of Washington, located in Arlington Virginia.
I moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan and started with a company managing a branch office. The job allowed for a great opportunity to attemp to find my way into the art scene while still having a finiancial backing to actually live suffeciently. This job had a split shift, with scheduling control in my hands. A great opportunity to continue my art and work on the side as a freelance artist.
I am currently working for the same company, but just bought a house in Orchard Lake, about 45 minutes north of Ann Arbor. In the craziness of the move I stumbled into a partnership with a start of product company, where I am serving as the lead artist and designer, and partial ownership. Several designs are in prototyping, one finished, and patents are pending. It is a very exciting opportunity.
